You are correct, I use Microns! They’re the best pens out there, I think. But if Microns are too costly, any other archaic ink pen will do— but make sure you use archaic or it’ll turn blue over time.
As for paper, that depends how nice the final product is going to be, and how much paper I’m going to use for it. For The Last Halloween, which has heavy linework and has to look very pretty, I use smooth bristol, but for JSPH, which is more rough, I let myself use crappy computer paper. I should really switch to better paper for that, as I’d like to sell the originals someday, but the computer paper does its job!
